Covid Testing at MBHS

Updated as of 4-15-2021

At MBHS we are promoting a culture of "knowing your COVID status,  helping stop the spread, and keeping MBHS safe." In order to keep students and staff safe we have partnered with UCSD to provide free COVID testing every week of all students and staff accessing MBHS.  We all want MBHS to be a safe place for students and staff.  Testing, contact tracing, along with masks, hand washing, social distancing and immunizations are all key in keeping MBHS safe.  Please participate in COVID testing and surveillance every week.  Knowing your COVID status is one of the best ways to prevent others from becoming infected due to asymptomatic transmission.  Everyone needs to participate in order for it to really make a difference.  It only takes one student to have COVID before the entire team, other students in a classroom environment and staff to become infected.  Especially now with students being allowed to play multiple sports and in school instruction.  Each family can make a difference, but all families and staff together can make a significant impact on reducing the spread of COVID at MBHS.

Testing is free, conveniently located in the auditorium at MBHS, every Monday and painless.  Please check the appointment times on the site below because times may vary (1:30 - 3:30).  The times are after in school instruction so students will have to stay to test until earlier times are offered by UCSD.

The process to sign up for testing is:

Step 1:

Release of Information form needs to be completed and signed. This is for UCSD to be able to send COVID test results to you (and our district contact tracing dept. if necessary). Also, a consent form needs to be completed and signed for all students. Parents and staff are able to fill out the ROI/Consent online here. Please use your or student’s email address to see the links to DocuSign. This needs to be done 7days prior to test day or as early as possible. If you have already completed this step in the past go to step 2 and schedule an appointment.

Step 2:

Go to link and click on Mission Bay High to sign up for appointment every Monday.  UCSD will be coming every week. You will need to sign up 7days before test day to make further appointments.

 Here’s the link:

Step 3:

If you have a "My Chart" account already, you are done. If you need to set up a "My Chart" then you will "continue as a guest" and complete the information. Then you will receive an email confirmation of your appointment. This email has a link and "pin" to set up a "My chart".

My Chart is a health portal that exchanges health information with the patient and UCSD Healthcare. They will post the results of the COVID test there.

Paperwork/Consent and setting up a "My Chart" is a ONE TIMEThe consents and release of information forms will be forwarded by Docusign directly to UCSD and faxes are no longer required.  After you do that, when you need an appointment you will go to the link above and sign up for a COVID testing.  You must use the link above to schedule an appointment and can not schedule it using your UCSD mychart.
