General Announcements

 Bucs Welcome to Campus!

 

  • We are excited to welcome students that have opted in to Onsite Instruction!
  • For students with last name's A-L and have been informed that you can attend on Mon and Tues, we look forward to seeing you today! 
  • For students with last name's M-Z and have been informed that you can attend on Wed and Thurs, we look forward to welcoming you to campus on Wednesday!
  • Students can check in starting at 8:35AM
  • Save Clear Pass to your phone or laptop and be prepared to show your screen when you come in the gate.
  • Make sure your laptop is fully charged before you bring it to campus. You will need to bring it with you along with your charger, headphones and a water bottle.  
  • Students will be welcomed to campus through the gate on Lee Street or the gate close to Rose Creek (by the staff parking lot). The front school gate will not be open.
  • Refer to Powerschool for your classes and room numbers. View the campus map to know where to go. Your schedule may have changed!
  • Do not bring your textbooks as lockers will not be assigned.
  • Masks must be worn at all times on campus. No bandanas and no gators.

Period 1 & 3 - 8:50 - 10:45 
8:50 - 10:15 - Class (85 minutes) 
10:15 - 10:45 - Office Hours (30 minutes)
Students will remain in class during office hour 
Period 2 & 4 - 10:55 - 12:50 
10:55 - 12:20 - Class (85 minutes) 
12:20 - 12:50 - Office Hours (30 minutes)
Students may stay or be dismissed at 12:20
Lunches will be available for grab and go at 12:20

Period 1/3 8:50 - 9:20 - Class (30 minute check in) 
Period 2/4 9:30 - 10:00 - Class (30 minute check in)
This Friday 4/16 is an A Day

  • ACES Tutoring will continue on Zoom - We have Mission Bay teachers and university tutors to help and the zoom links are on Canvas and on the MB website under Students>ACES Tutoring.
  • Q3 grades will be posted in Powerschool by Friday, April 16th. Report cards will not be mailed home by the district. 
  •  Need a Transcript? You can view and print an unoffiical transcript directly from Powerschool. Log in and select the Transcript button on the left hand side.  If you have questions, please contact agriffin@sandi.net

News from the Nurse

  • Students must wear Masks on campus - no gators, face shields with out masks, and no bandannas at school.  Only cloth face masks or surgical masks are allowed.  All students must sign up for clear pass and complete that daily before entering campus.  

  •  Any student with fever with or without chills/rigors, temperature greater than 100.0 (that does not resolve within 30 minutes) with out medication, cough, shortness of breath, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, new loss of taste/ smell, headache, muscle or body aches, and loss of appetite must stay home and not come to MBHS for school or work.  The district policy is that if you have any of these symptoms that you will isolate for 10 days and return on the 11th day or have a rapid PCR COVID test  done and return 24 hours after symptoms stop.  There is no other way to determine if the symptoms are from COVID.  Unless it is a chronic condition on file and symptom related.  There are no exceptions. Chronic conditions that are pre-existing are determined on a case to case basis.  Example: student had a headache from staying up too late with no history of migraines and no documentation of migraines on file.  This student must isolate or obtain a rapid PCR COVID test to return to school.  If the nurse is aware of the pre-existing condition then the form is not needed. Please have this form completed by your doctor if you have chronic conditions and symptoms that are listed above. Otherwise to return quickly you must have a rapid PCR COVID test and self isolate until 24 hours after your symptoms stop.  Our school district policies are aimed at keeping MBHS students and staff safe.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at mjones6@sandi.net

ASB Announcements 

Class Officer Application/Election info: Are you interested in running for class office for the 2021-22 school year? Class officers are responsible for organizing class activities and fundraising for events including Homecoming Float construction, class competition materials and your SENIOR PROM!!!! Available positions include: 

Class President- work closely with your class advisor to oversee and coordinate all class activities and meetings. 

Vice President- assist the Class President in running class activities and step in to lead when they are not present. 

Secretary- take meeting minutes/notes at each meeting to record discussions, decisions, and payments and/or fundraising/donations.

Treasurer- monitor class funds and complete paperwork to deposit money and make payments.

Thurs, April 15 at 1:30pm: MANDATORY campaign meeting via Zoom (you will be emailed a Zoom link after your application is accepted)

Sat, April 17 at 12pm: Campaign video and digital flyer due

Mon, April 19- Fri, April 23: Campaign Week; you may hang campaign posters and flyers (using BLUE PAINTER'S TAPE ONLY) beginning Monday)

Wed, April 21 at 12pm- Election Speeches Due 

Fri, April 23- Election Day

Mon, April 26- Results announced on Buc TV

 

ASB Membership Applications AVAILABLE NOW and DUE APRIL 28: Are you a natural leader? Do you enjoy planning events, getting your friends involved in fun activities and working collaboratively with your peers? Do you have ideas for improving school culture or getting more student and community involvement in events at MBHS? YOU should join the MBHS Associated Student Body (ASB) team!!! We are always looking for new members and our program is growing. We have a ton of fun working hard to plan activities for the school and there are a bunch of perks to joining- leadership field trips, team bonding trips, and you get a shirt 😊

  • Returning to In-Person Instruction - Pease review the April 9th welcome presentation from Principal Remillard. We have lots of information to share for a safe return of students that chose hybrid on site learning - while offering quality online instruction. Updates will be posted and shared on our Updates page. 
  • From the Nurse - We are seeing a glitch in UCSD’s system with our COVID testing that some are getting billed for their COVID testing.  This is an error.  If this happens, Please have them email mkipp@health.ucsd.edu. They should give the information that the testing was at Mission Bay High School school site and that they are a staff/student.  This person at UCSD can remove the charge.
  • Report cards will not be mailed home by the district.  Quarter 3 Grades will be official in Powerschool no later than Friday, April 16th.  
  • Parents and students with last names Go-N, please contact Ms. Heine Arp via email at eheinearp@sandi.net in place of Ms. Cannon, who is currently out on leave through April.
