General Announcements

  • Winter Break - School will be closed December 20th until Mon, January 3rd when classes will resume.  January 3rd will be a B day. HAPPY HOLIDAYS from all of the MBHS teachers and staff. Enjoy your time with friends and family. May 2022 be a year of joy, peace and opportunity! 

 

  • Check the Lost & Found - If you are missing sweatshirts, water bottles or other items, please come by the office to check the Lost & Found. Items willl be donated before the winter break. 
  • Badminton meeting: RESCHEDULED Meeting is now this Wednesday, December 15th, in room 184, with Ms. Andrews  (across Lee Street towards the gym), at 1:35. Come on by for a quick meeting to hear about this amazing, fun sport, which officially starts February 14th. See Ms. Andrews if you can't make it but are interested anyway. Thanks
  • Club Pages in the Yearbook - Attention all Clubs! This is the final week to reserve space for your Club in the 2022 yearbook! If you do not reserve a spot for your club by Friday, Dec 17th, it will NOT be included in this year's edition. You can send club content such as photos and quotes from club members to MBHS2022seniors@gmail.com
  • Mission Bay Music - Winter Concerts December 14th and 15th -  
    Join us for two nights of festive music featuring all our amazing student musicians.  12/14 will be our Jazz Night, featuring all our jazz ensembles and 12/15 will be our Classical Night featuring our classical ensembles.  Both concerts start at 7PM. $5 suggested donation for adults.  Staff and students come in free! Now being held in the Auditorium. Masks required for all attendees. Guests must show proof of vaccination or negative COVID test within 72 hours of the event.

  • Buy Your YEARBOOK - Yearbooks can be purchased for $75 with cash or check payable to MBHS or at Jostens.com. We have sold out the last 5 years in a row so please reserve your copy now! You can find order information on the new Yearbook page in the Student section of the school website.

  • ACES Afterschool Tutoring - our ACES after school program now offers university tutoring in Math and Science every Monday through Thursday from 3:30 to 5:00 in the library along with our MBHS teachers who can help with English, History, Research, and Writing. Also, we now offer SAT and ACT prep in both English and Math every Monday!

  • Eco Club Wednesdays at lunch on the grass between the 250 and 260 buildings. 
  • Chess Club - Meetings are every Monday after school from 5-6pm and every Wednesday at lunch in Mr. Moura's classroom! Our Instagram paeg is @chessclub_mbhs. Come support the club and have fun while getting to learn new chess tactics!
  • Drumline EVERY Friday from 3:30-5:00PM in room 113.  All levels are welcome!  See Mr. Balmat at lunch if you have any questions.

 Winter Spirit Week: Start planning now for your chance to win prizes and have some fun participating in our Winter Holiday Spirit Week.

 Friday 12/17: Class Wars (Seniors- Santa; Juniors- Elves; Sophomores- Reindeer; Freshmen: Snowmen; Staff: Grinch) 

 

Holiday Spirit Week Lunch Activities: Come join us in the Weedpatch each day at lunch this week for some holiday-themed fun. 

Monday-Friday: MB Holiday Tree decorating (design an ornament and hang it on the tree for the week. Don't forget to take it home on Friday for your own tree). 

Tuesday: Holiday Sing Along (choose your favorite holiday song and sing it karaoke/sing along style for all to hear)

Thursday: Gingerbread House decorating contest (enter on your own or as a team to decorate your house and compete to win prizes)

Friday: ASB Card Holder Event!!! We appreciate our ASB Card holders and want to celebrate you and your support. Bring your ASB card to the Weedpatch to decorate AND EAT a holiday cookie. 

Also on Friday: Class and Staff Wars!!!- the class with the most students dressed in their theme will win $100 for their class. Come to the Weedpatch the first 10 min of lunch for a group pic to be counted!!! 

 

Senior Announcements

  • Yearbook Seniors - This is the final week to turn in content for the 2022 yearbook. If we do not receive your Senior Selfie & Quote or Baby Buc by Friday, December 17th, it will NOT be included in this year's edition. You can send all senior content to mbhs2022seniors@gmail.com
  • It's time to vote for Senior Standouts!  Here is the Voting Link
  • GRAD NIGHT - Event organizers will be on campus this week during lunch Wed-Fri to collect deposits and answer questions. Please read the details in the the Announcement Flyer and be sure to get your Consent Form completed. Grad Night is not a school-sponsored event.  This info has also been posted on the Senior Activities page  
  • Senior Canvas class - check for updates

 

Tell Your Parents

  • Consider contributing to the science dept!  Look for donation opportunities on DonorsChoose.  Search for Jacoway or Sutterley/Campbell.  Contributions to projects benefit the entire science team.
  • The Mission Bay Music Program is holding their Fall Music Fundraiser through December 16th.  Visit missionbaymusic.com to see how you can help give the gift off music. 
  • The next Principal's Coffee is scheduled for Dec 17th.
