General Announcements

  • Welcome back to school! Happy New Year!
  • Principal message to students and families letter - see BucTV link for video message. 
  • Just 3 weeks left of the 1st Semester! Be sure that you have completed all assignments, check Canvas and Powerschool and/or connect with your teacher. Utilize ACES for tutoring support. Report cards will not be mailed out by the district. Students and parents/guardians can check Powerschool starting on Fri, Jan 28th for final semester grades. 
  • If you are leaving campus early, you must have a blue pass. Have your parent/guardian contact the attendance office at least one hour in advance so a pass may be delivered to you.  Leaving campus without a blue pass will result in a truancy and Saturday School.  Your parent/guardian may not call to clear the absence after you have left.
  • New Saturday School Process – The next Saturday School is scheduled for Sat, January 15, 2022 9AM – 1PM. Saturday School will clear one full day of unexcused absence and 4 tardies. Students will receive a pass on Monday, Jan 10th with the instructions on how to sign up – only if they should attend. Remind your parents to please email missionbayattendance@sandi.net to clear up any absence issues. 

    To attend Saturday School, you must sign up to reserve your seat!  Spots are limited so you should sign up early. If you are placed on the waitlist, please tell your parent to not leave until you have been confirmed and have entered the school gate. 

    Student Expectations for Saturday School: 
    Sign up before Friday, Jan 14th- SATURDAY SCHOOL Registration Form 
    Arrive by 8:45AM – the gates will be closed at 9PM. DO NOT BE LATE
    Must bring a picture ID
    Stay for the entire session – a 2nd role call will be taken after the break
    Complete assignment from the lesson taught during the 1st hour 
    Bring your fully charged computer, headphones, homework and assignments to work on during the remainder of the day
  • Congratulations to our MBHS Competitive Surf Team for their recent two consecutive team wins ! On Nov. 13th at Avalanche OB we defeated Grauer 56-30  and on Dec 11th at San Fernando Mission Beach we defeated Santa Fe Christian 58-7.

    Special Congratulations to Ellah Campagna for her domination as dual champ in both shortboarding and longboarding in both of the aforementioned contests!!!

    Props to Niko Launais for his dominating effort to secure 1st place in shortboarding on December 11th. Congratulations to Viola Mittococchio, Silas Patricelli and Levi Retish for their excellent contest efforts and medal wins.

    Our next contest is January 22nd at Army/Navy Beach in Carlsbad.
  • Book club will be selling hot chocolate in the weed patch on January 4 and 6 during lunch! We hope you come and support!
  • Buy Your YEARBOOK - Yearbooks can be purchased for $75 with cash or check payable to MBHS or at Jostens.com. We have sold out the last 5 years in a row so please reserve your copy now! You can find order information on the new Yearbook page in the Student section of the school website. 
  • Winter Sports - Please check the Athletics Website for upcoming events and follow @mbbuccaneers on Instagram for updates.
  • ACES Afterschool Tutoring - our ACES after school program now offers university tutoring in Math and Science every Monday through Thursday from 3:30 to 5:00 in the library along with our MBHS teachers who can help with English, History, Research, and Writing. Also, we now offer SAT and ACT prep in both English and Math every Monday! 



Counseling Announcements

  • Articulation for next year's class will begin soon! Please be sure to read the Counseling Newsletter for updates.  


Senior Announcements

  • GRAD NIGHT - Please read the details in the the Announcement Flyer and be sure to get your Consent Form completed. Organizers will be on campus every Friday to collect your forms/payments. Grad Night is not a school-sponsored event.  This info has also been posted on the Senior Activities page  
  • Senior Canvas class - check for updates


Tell Your Parents

  • Parent Articulation Night is January 12th at 6pm via Zoom. More information will come from your student's counselor.
  • Report cards will not be mailed by the school district. Please check Powerschool on Jan 28th for your student's final Semester 1 grades. You can also print a transcript from your Parent Portal. If you need assistance with Parent Portal, please email agriffin@sandi.net
  • The next Principal's Coffee is scheduled for Jan 28th.
