MBHS Weekly Update - Week of 1/17

Hello Mission Bay Families!

Here are some important announcements from Mission Bay High School.  We have many important announcements, please read the entire communication.

  • School will be closed on Monday, January 17th in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday.


  • On site COVID Testing Update:  Testing will now be done through Responsive Lab Partners.  Testing is only for Mission Bay students and staff. Testing on-site will still be done on Thursdays. Staff members and students who already signed consent with UCSD already have consent on file. You will need to register with Primary Health Portal in order to be tested. The link to do that is here: 


https://my.primary.health/l/sdusd_testing . The links for making an appointment with UCSD are no longer working and will not be used at all. 


Appointments are no longer needed.  Students should report to the Counseling Conference Room between the hours of 9am - 4pm to test on Thursdays.


  • We want to remind our families that our mask mandate for all schools and district properties remains in place.  Now more than ever, with omicron being highly contagious, it is very important that an appropriate mask is worn at all times, unless eating outside.


  • Students that are out due to COVID should check Canvas/Google classroom and contact their teachers directly regarding completing assignments and making up missing work. Students are allowed and expected to make up assignments and/or missing work during an excused absence.  If your student needs to stay home due to a positive COVID case, please make sure you communicate this with the attendance office. 


  • Rock the Street Spring Mentorship registration is open for female students - See Info in English and Spanish.  Students will learn how to be a boss, build a resume, practice interview skills and more!


  • ACES now has Spanish tutoring on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  ACES provides tutoring Monday - Thursday from 3:30 - 5:00 in the Library.  Email Dr. Lancia at rlancia@sandi.net with any questions regarding the program.


  • Please access your Parent Portal to check your students grades, complete annual forms, and/or update contact information. Report cards will not be mailed by the district this semester.  You can print transcripts, check grades and assignments through your Parent Portal.  If you do not have a Parent Portal, please contact agriffin@sandi.net for assistance.


  • Semester One ends on January 21st.  Thursday, January 20th and Friday, January 21st are minimum days.  Students will be released at 1:59 pm on 1/20 and 1/21.




  • Per district guidance, parent access to the campus is limited at this time.  Please do not come to campus unless pre-arranged with administration.
