General Announcements

• Yearbook - Due to overwhelming demand, we have arranged to make 30 more copies of the 2022 yearbook available. We have already sold 505 copies, so make sure to reserve yours now before they are completely sold out! You can reserve a copy at Jostens.com or with $80 cash or check payable to "MBHS". 
• Masks - the mask mandate is currently scheduled to be lifted after Spring Break. Masks will be optional but please note that students (and staff) will be required to wear a mask in the Health Office at all times. Masks will also be required in the COVID testing room on testing days. Masks will be available in the office at anytime.  
• Join Ballet Folklorico Club! Meetings every Friday during lunch in Room 181. No experience needed. See flyer
• ANIME CLUB meets every Friday from 3:30 to 4:00 in room 227. Stop by to watch this week's pick!
• Free Prom Dress from the Princess Project - Book an appt online, multiple locations to choose from - see flyer in English or Spanish for more info. 
• ACES offers tutoring in all subjects on Monday through Thursday in the library from 3:30 - 5:00. We have specialized university tutoring in Math and Science on Mondays and Wednesdays, and support in Spanish on Tuesday and Thursdays.
  
  

ASB Announcements

Women's History Month - Facts of the Week

• Eleanor Roosevelt held all-women press conferences. She would cover issues “of special interest and value to the women of the country,”
• Marie Curie was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize, as well as the first person and only woman to win two Nobel Prizes.

ASB Officer Positions: President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer

ASB Commissioner Positions: 

Activities- organize dances, lunch activities, and other student events 

Clubs and Communications-  put on Club Rush and maintain active club paperwork and club lists 

Elections- run Class, ASB and Homecoming Court elections

Publicity- publicize student events on Instagram and on Spirit Boards

Spirit- put on pep rallies, spirit weeks, organize spirit sections at sporting events and increase school spirit 

Application Deadlines:

-Application Due: Wednesday, March 23 at 12am (late applications will not be accepted; 12:01am is considered late)

-Mandatory Campaign Meeting in Room 332: Friday, March 25 at lunch 

-Digital Campaign Video Due: Saturday, April 2 by 12pm

-Election Day Speech Due: Wednesday, April 6 by 12pm. 

-Election Day: Friday, April 8

 Spring Dance!!!: ASB is hosting a Spring Dance on April 30 from 7-10pm. We will have a number of activities (lazer tag, video game truck, and outdoor party games), desserts, photobooth and DJ. Tickets will go on sale this Wed outside the Gear Shop. You will need a Dance Contract to buy a ticket (available in the ASB room or on the school website). Tickets are $25 with an ASB card and $30 without. • Name Check - Diplomas will be printed with your name as it appears in Powerschool First, Middle and Last.  Please check Powerschool to confirm that your name is accurate.  Please see the Registrar, Ms. Gil, if you have a change or correction.  
• GRAD NITE Final payment is due March 21st.  Lily Higman will be on campus every Friday to collect any reaminder amounts due.
• GRAD NITE Waitlist - need 13 more kids to sign up to keep the prices low or prices will rise to $365/per person. Have questions? Reach out to Lily Higman lilyhigman@gmail.com

• Save the Date - March 23rd 6PM via Zoom College Planning and Dual Enrollment Night for 10th and 11th Grade families. 
• The next Principal's Coffee is cancelled Fri, March 25th at 9am.
• School will be closed March 28th - April 1st for Spring Break.
