Not only does the Parent Portal keep you connected to your student's progress and attendance, it has many features and menu options for maintaining your child's school records. 

Parent Portals give you access to change your email address, complete forms, sign an IEP, or generate a transcript. 

At multiple points throughout the school year, parents are asked to to login to complete tasks.  For example, in the Spring, you will be asked to re-register your student for the next school year.  In the Fall and Winter, you will be asked to complete an assortment of annual forms and notifications.
