MBHS Weekly Update - Week of 1/10/22

Hello Mission Bay Families!

Happy New Year!  Here are some important announcements from Mission Bay High School.  We have many important announcements, please read the entire communication.

 

  • On site COVID Testing Update - UCSD is no longer testing at Mission Bay - testing will now be done through Responsive Lab Partners.  Testing is only for Mission Bay students and staff.

 

Testing on-site will still be done on Thursdays. Staff members and students who already signed consent with UCSD already have consent on file. You will need to register with Primary Health Portal in order to be tested. The link to do that is here: 

 

https://my.primary.health/l/sdusd_testing . The links for making an appointment with UCSD are no longer working and will not be used at all. 

 

Appointments are no longer needed.  Students should report to the Counseling Conference Room between the hours of 9am - 4pm to test on Thursdays.

 

  • Students that are out due to COVID should check Canvas/Google classroom and contact their teachers directly regarding completing assignments and making up missing work. Students are allowed and expected to make up assignments and/or missing work during an excused absence.  If your student needs to stay home due to a positive COVID case, please make sure you communicate this with the attendance office. 

 

  • Spanish Tutoring has been added to the ACES program on Tuesdays!  Mr. Sanchez will provide Spanish tutoring from 3:30 - 4:30 on Tuesdays in ACES.  ACES Tutoring is offered Monday - Thursday from 3:30 - 5:00 in the Library.  Contact Dr. Lancia at [email protected] with any questions regarding the ACES program. 

 

  • Course Planning for the  2022-2023 school year is beginning.  Families, please participate in the Parent Articulation Night on January 12th at 6pm via Zoom. See flyer for details.

 

  • Please access your Parent Portal to check your students grades, complete annual forms, and/or update contact information. Report cards will not be mailed by the district this semester.  You can print transcripts, check grades and assignments through your Parent Portal.  If you do not have a Parent Portal, please contact [email protected] for assistance.

 

  • Saturday School is scheduled for Saturday, January 15th from 9:00 - 1:00.  Students who need Saturday School with get a pass on Monday with instructions on how to sign up.  Students need to sign up by Friday, January 14th at noon.  

 

  • Attendance Update: We have simplified the attendance procedure for families - please visit our Attendance page. You can now email [email protected].

 

  • Per district guidance, parent access to the campus is limited at this time.  Please do not come to campus unless pre-arranged with administration.
