Welcome Back! First Day of School Information

Good evening Mission Bay families!

This is Interim Principal Leszynski with some very important information as we start the new school-year.  We are ready to go and school begins on Monday, August 30th at 8:45 AM.

We have much hope and excitement as we welcome our students back to school, but there will be surprises no one anticipated, and we will continue to need the goodwill and support of everyone to navigate any  challenges together.

As we prepare for a safe start to the new school year, the district  will continue to update policies and procedures, as new information becomes available which will affect the students, staff and families at Mission Bay. Late last week such was the case with the mask policy.  Today, we are strengthening the policy in light of the continued presence of the Covid-19 virus in our community. Masks are always required indoors. However, now masks will be required outdoors at all times while students are on campus, unless they are eating. Please note as well, just as in the spring - we must limit access to the campus, so only essential visitors will be allowed at this time.  Meetings with parents will continue to be held via zoom.

(Note: Your student’s PowerSchool Username and Password will be required to complete this form. If you do not have the Access ID and Password for your student, please contact your school site’s office following the first day of school on August 30th.)

Additionally, students will need to bring the following items daily:

  • Mask

  • Water Bottle

  • Computer fully charged and charger (until directed otherwise by their teacher)

  • Headsets

Students that do not already have a district issued device will be able to check one out for the year in the library.  Headphones are available in the library as well.

On Monday, students will get a goldenrod copy of their schedule as changes may be made over the weekend as counselors balance class size.  Have your student report to the Weed Patch (large grassy area at the front of campus) to get their schedule starting at 8:20 am.  Campus will be open at 8:00.

We look forward to a wonderful year of learning at Mission Bay!

Thank you,

Erin Leszynski, Interim Principal
