Hello Mission Bay Families!  This is what is happening at Mission Bay the week of October 26.  Please note there are several new items to review!


Here is the calendar for the week:

Saturday, October 24Chipotle Fundraiser for Project Thirst:  Help MB Club Project Thirst fundraise the building of wells in Africa for clean water.  Proceeds from sales will go towards the club. You can feel good about supporting a good cause and you don’t need to make dinner!   Make sure you present this coupon.

Thursday, October 29 from 1:00-2:30  Rock the Wall Street Wall Street:   Do you have a daughter who is interested in financial and investment literacy.  If so, she may be interested in a program called Rock The Wall Street, Wall Street.   RTSWS is a financial and investment literacy program led by strong, local women in finance. Congratulations!  October 30 is the last day of Quarter 1 and Quarter 2 starts on November 2:  Make sure your children check their Canvas to get their four new classes and their new ZOOM codes.  They may need to cross reference with Power School for period placements.  The bell schedule remains the same.  Please check with  your child to make sure that they have all the necessary textbooks for Quarter 2.  Most students picked up both Quarter 1 & 2 textbooks during textbook distribution in September.  If you need to go to the library to pick up or exchange textbooks the schedule is  Monday-Friday from 1:00-3:00.   If you need to make arrangements for another time, please contact Library Technician, Ms. Wanda Wedemeyer at .  

Course Code Changes:  Please note that if your child is enrolled in 9th Grade English or IB Math, there will be a course code change for these classes.  The 9th grade ELA course code is changing in order to meet new graduation requirements which go into effect in 2024.  IB Math changes are being made as a result of IB's course code changes.

2020-2021 Annual Enrollment Forms and Information:  We strongly encourage all our families to complete the forms.  Please note that the Free/Reduced Lunch Application is one of the items to complete.  Remember that qualifying for F/R lunch also qualifies you for fee waivers on the SAT/AP and IB exams as well as some college applications.

Every Tuesday and Thursday on Zoom from 3:30 - 5:00 the MBHS ACES program offers:

  • 1-on-1 teacher-tutoring in a variety of subject areas
  • Essay help in all phases of the writing process
  • Specialized help like P/SAT prep and college apps  
  • Volunteer university tutoring in math and science 
  • Technological support to help navigate distance learning
  • A holistic approach to mentorship of all students

More than Breakfast and Lunch:  CHECK IT OUT! :  Meals now include a breakfast, lunch and evening meal for each day of the week. That’s 21 meals in a week for each child. You can expect to receive three meals on Mondays, four meals on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and five meals on Thursdays and Fridays per child.

Additionally, extra food boxes of either fresh produce, grocery items or shelf-stable foods are available on a rotating basis at select sites.  Schedule for these extra produce days can be found here .  Please note that these extra food boxes are limited, so families are encouraged to arrive during the early portion of the food distribution window.  Children do not need to be present to receive meals, but a photo of each child must be shown if they are not present at meal pick-up.

Athletic Clearance OpenUpdated Sports Physical Form Available:  The athletic clearance website is now open and available at   All students planning on trying out for 2020-21 sports must be cleared before they are allowed to try out.  In order to be cleared, please complete the athletic clearance profile and upload a completed sports physical form to the profile.  Sports physicals must be completed after June 1, 2020 in order to be valid for the 2020-21 school year.  You can find the 2020-21 sports physical form here:  Sports Physicals 2020-21  Please contact our Athletic Director, Jorge Palacios with any questions at
