General Announcements

  • From Dr. Brown: "Welcome Back BUCS! We are excited to see everyone back on campus and off to a great start! We all here are committed to giving you the best high school experience possible and we’re focused on developing critically reflective learners that are concerned about their community and their roles in a global society. Mission Bay High School doesn’t exist if you don’t get involved! There are many opportunities to do so and if you need something let us know! Go BUCS!!!"

  • First Day of School - Students will report to the Weed Patch upon
    arrival to school. Once in the Weed Patch, report to the alpha station that corresponds with the first letter of your last name. Staff will begin distributing schedules at 8:20 am Report to your Period 1 class at 8:45 am
  • A Few Reminders:
    • Bring your fully-charged laptop, charger, headphones and a water bottle
    • Stay home if you are sick
    • Be organized – keep an agenda, calendar, or “To Do” list.
    • Ask questions - don’t be afraid to ask for help – the staff is
      here to assist you
    • We encourage you to become involved in a sport or club and if you need help, use our ACES after school tutoring which will be starting soon! 
  • Labor Day Weekend - School will be closed Monday, September 5th
  • ATHLETICS - Please check the Athletics Website for upcoming games and follow @mbbuccaneers on Instagram for updates.
  • Fall Photo Make-up Days are September 28th/29th for any students that missed getting photos and ID cards during Orientation Week. 
  • Architecture Club meets every Wednesday in Room 228(Vadnais). We make design creativity happen!
  • Calling all students who are passionate about wellness and mental health! We have several opportunities for students to get involved, supporting your community, here at MBHS and also at the district level. These are great ways to get leadership experience and to add to your resume. Please email Ms. K. at [email protected] (or stop by the counseling office) to learn more. 
  • Calling all creative students. Please join me for an introductory ART CLUB meeting on Tuesday August 30th at lunch in room #232. No experience necessary! HENKES
  • Do you have any magazines or newspapers that need to be recycled? Please consider donating them to the Art Department throughout the year! Room #232 HENKES
  • Student Parking - The student lot is a Junior/Senior lot only.  All cars parked in the student lot must be registered and display a valid Mission Bay Parking Permit. All cars not displaying a valid permit will be cited and/or towed at the owner's expense.  A parking permit does not guarantee a parking spot. Parking permits are available from Mrs. Filamor in Room 154.

ASB Announcements 

  • Freshmen Class Elections: Attention Class of 2026!!! It's time to start fundraising for your Senior Prom and other activities you will plan and attend in the next 4 years! Help your class start strong and run for Class Office. Class Officer positions include President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Class Officers are responsible for planning a minimum of 3 fundraisers during the school year, designing your homecoming float and half time "dance" and leading your class throughout the year.

    Fri, Sept 9 at lunch: Mandatory Campaign Meeting in room 332 (ASB room)

    Sat, Sept 10 at 1pm: Campaign Video and Digital Flyer due

    Wed, Sept 14: Campaign Speech Due

    Fri, Sept 16: Election Day


  • ASB Card: Buy your ASB card to get special benefits throughout the school year including free entry to regular season home football and basketball games, discounts on dance tickets and exclusive card holder events. You must have your student ID to purchase an ASB card. ASB card stickers will be sold at lunch in the Gear Shop this week for $25. ***You must have your physical card with you to use ASB card benefits***
  • Spirit Gear and PE Clothes: The Gear Shop will be open at lunch all week. Check out our new gear and buy your PE clothes. Let's show out Buc Pride every Friday for Buc Gear Fridays and at all our sporting events throughout the year!

  •  Homecoming Dance Tickets: Homecoming dance tickets will be sold every Friday in the Gear Shop at lunch. Our Homecoming Dance is on Sat, Oct 22 at the Fleet Science Center in Balboa park. Tickets are $60 with an ASB card and $65 without. You don't want to miss out on a night full of food, dancing and other activities.

  • Friends of PB Secondary Schools (FOPBSS) welcomes you to join our first meeting! Wednesday, September 14th 6:00PM in the library at Mission Bay High School.  Zoom information will be listed on our website and shared via the weekly FOPBSS e-blast. For more information or to sign up, visit
  • Make sure that you add [email protected] to your email address book to ensure you receive the weekly emails sent home on Sundays.  If you missed the messages, they will also be posted in MBHS News on the school website.
