General Announcements

  • May 17th 4:30PM MBHS Auditorium- Mission Bay Music will be hosting a very special clinic with drummer/percussionist and two time Grammy Award winner Peter Erskine.  This event is open to the public. Middle and High School Students free. $10 suggested donation for adults to support the music education in San Diego. Mr. Erskine has played with everyone from Stan Kenton to Weather Report to Steps Ahead to ECM to Steely Dan to Joni Mitchell to Barbra Streisand, and many many more. His discography comprises 627 albums, not to mention all the film scores! 
  • Jazz on the Green May 12th! Come join us as we feature ALL our talented jazz groups at Mission Bay for our annual outdoor end of the year concert.  $10 suggested donation at the door.  Performance will take place from 6-8PM in the quad area (weed patch).  Drinks and tacos available for purchase!   • The next Saturday School is scheduled for May 21st. Registration is required. Visit the Saturday School Registration webpage to reserve your seat. 
  • The IB Film Festival will be held on Thursday, June 2nd at 6 pm in the Auditorium. It is free and open to the public and features Mission Bay student filmmakers. Hope to see you there! The IB Film students are excited to share their work! 
  • Yearbook Distribution Event - Our yearbook distribution event is planned for Wednesday, June 1 during Period 3 (11th & 12th graders) and Period 4 (9th & 10th graders). This will be a memorable time for us to come together and sign each other's yearbooks. Only yearbook purchasers will receive a pass to this event.
  • Masks - Masks are optional however they are required when in the Health Office or when testing in the COVID testing room on Thursdays. Masks will be available in the office at anytime.  
  • From the Health Office - We have been seeing an increase in COVID-like symptoms on campus recently. If you have any of the following symptoms: fever, cough, shortness of breath, runny nose or congestion, sore throat, nausea/vomiting/diarrhea, new loss of taste or smell, headache, body aches, and/or poor appetite, please stay home. Students may return to school with a negative PCR test, or with proof of two negative rapid antigen (home) tests taken at least 12 hours apart after symptoms have started. Take a photo of each test, include the date and time the test was taken, and send the photos to Health Tech Deanna Wolfe at to be cleared for school
  • ACES - Math and Science Tutors are back at ACES on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the library from 3:30 - 5:00! The university tutors are amazing and can help with all levels of Math and Science. See latest schedule
  • Memorial Day Weekend - No School Friday 5/27 or Monday 5/30. 


Counseling Announcements

  • For 9th-11th grade students and families - Ever wonder what goes on when colleges review applications? Now is your chance to find out! "Mock Admissions" college night is an engaging and effective way to discuss the process.  College representatives will lead parents and students through a mock committee to point out the intricacies of the process and the importance of assembling a strong application.  Guests will gain insight and understanding as to what is valued in the application.  The Case Study program concludes with a mini college fair in our library. See you on May 11 6:30-8:30PM!  Colleges that will be at the fair include:

Senior Announcements

  • Senior Prom will be held at The Prado. Ticket prices are $85 and we will start selling tickets soon! 
  • Are you able to participate in Senior Activities?  Make sure that you are eligible - check your attendance and attend Saturday School if needed.  Please check the Senior Activities regularly for updates.  
  • Name Check - Diplomas will be printed with your name as it appears in Powerschool First, Middle and Last.  Please check Powerschool to confirm that your name is accurate.  Please see the Registrar, Ms. Gil, if you have a change or correction.  
  • Senior Canvas class - check for updates

  • Please complete Local Control Funding Form for 2022-2023 - This quick survey will have a critical impact on your child(ren)'s support and services. The data collected determines the State and Federal funding that schools receive. This funding provides your child(pen) with support and resources for their academic success. Log in to Powerschool Parent Portal and click on the LCFF Data Collection tab.

  • Save the Date!  Underclassmen awards will be on May 24th and Senior awards will be on May 25th at 6:00 pm in the auditorium.  Students and families will be notified of nominations via email or letter prior to the event.
