General Announcements

  • This Friday (10/30) is an A Day
  • Congratulations! This week is the end of your 1st Quarter of Distance End of 1st QuarterLearning in 2020-21!  You will complete any assignments, tests or lessons in your Quarter 1 Classes this week.  Then Next Week, you will attend your Quarter 2 set of Classes.  You will use Canvas to get your new zoom codes for your new classes and meet for the 9 weeks with your new teachers.
  • How do I know where to go for my new classes on Monday? Counselors may be making changes to your schedule over this week in preparation for next week.  Please be sure to check Canvas and Powerschool on Monday morning to ensure you go to the right courses.  
  • When will I see my grades for my Quarter 1 Classes?  Official grades for Quarter 1 will be posted in Powerschool on Fri, Nov 6th.  
  • ACES Virtual Tutoring is Now Available on Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:30-5pm. The schedule and more information are online https://missionbay.sandiegounified.org/students/aces_tutoring
  • Rock the Street, Wall Street Program available to our students - A financial and investment literacy program (see Flyer).   • LGBTQ History Month Facts of the Week: 

    There have been numerous LGBTQ people who have accomplished amazing things throughout history. Here are a few examples:

    Bayard Rustin, an activist in the Civil Rights movement Frida Kahlo, an artist and painter Josephine Baker, a comedian, actor, and spy Louisa May Alcott, author of the Little Women books Marsha P. Johnson, an activist who participated in the Stonewall Riots Sally Ride, the first American woman in space Hans Christian Andersen, author of many fairy tales, including The Little Mermaid and Thumbelina

  • Please join the Key Club on Halloween for a costume party at 1:00pm. We will be voting on officers for the club. All are welcome! Mrs. Almada. Meeting ID: 86831481538. 

  • Support the Thirst Project Club at MBHS - we focus on fundraising money for the global water crisis. We have our first fundraiser at Chipotle from 5-9 this Saturday Please support the cause! Flyer

  •   The San Diego Sports Association's College National Letter of Intent Announcement & Signing Day is for any high school senior student-athlete intending to compete in intercollegiate athletics in any sport. If you wish to participate, check out the post at www.mbbuccaneers.com. Please note, RSVPing is necessary and there are limited spots available for this event.

  • Textbooks or Materials - Please complete this form to request an appointment to return, exchange or pickup textbooks or materials from the library.

  •   Pumpkin Carving Contest: Show off your carving skills and win one of our new Nike MBHS Hoodies! Carve a pumpkin, take a pic of you with your finished product and DM the pic to @mb_bucs or email the pic to llittlefield@sandi.net by Wed, Oct 28 at 12pm. If your design is in the top 10, you will make it into the final round of the contest. All students and staff are encouraged to enter.   • Students will attend their new 2nd Quarter Classes next Monday, Nov 2nd.  They should log in to Powerschool on Monday morning to see their new class schedule.  They should open the corresponding Canvas Classes to get new zoom meeting codes and assignments from their new teachers.  
  • Save the Date - Open House for Quarter 2 classes will be held virtually on Thursday, November 12th at 6:00PM. 
  • Official Grades for Quarter 1 will be posted in Powerschool on Friday, Nov 6th. 
  • Resources have been added to the Parents section of the website, including the Parent/Student Handbook.  Additionally, you can find a helpful Who to Contact Guide under the Staff section. 
  • The 2021-2022 School Year Choice Enrollment is now open for families wishing to come to Mission Bay High School but do not reside within the neighborhood boundary.  Current students do not need to re-apply, they will automatically be enrolled next year.  Applications are being accepted from 10/5 - 11/16.  For more information, visit Enrollment Options.
