General Announcements 

  • Art Club Meetings every Tuesday at lunch at Room #232 (Eating outside)!!!! Come be creative! No experience needed and all mediums welcome. We will add additional after school sessions depending on projects in progress! Henkes 
  • Interested in the law? Want to be a part of a murder trial? Mission Bay Mock Trial team will have its first meeting this Monday in room 312. New members are encouraged to attend. 
  • Public Service Announcement - Skateboards may not be carried around campus.  Students must use the skateboard lockers out by the bike racks.  Students must provide their own lock.  If your skateboard does not fit please try and make arrangements with a teacher who's room you may leave it in till the end of the day. Starting this week, if skateboards are on campus, they will be confiscated and will be return when a student has a lock for the skateboard or a parent picks it up. 
  • Students, Families, and Staff: Please check out this great opportunity to learn how to be a life saver. This is a free training opportunity on Zoom with various dates to choose from! See Flyer
  • Fall Sports Please check the Athletics Website for upcoming games and follow @mbbuccaneers on Instagram for updates.
  • DRUMLINE every Friday from 3:45-5:00PM in the music room 113.  No experience needed.  Learn how to play as a group and perform at sporting events! See Mr. Balmat for more information.
  • Fall Photo Make-up Day is Wednesday, September 22nd.  You will receive a pass on Tuesday, Sept 21st if you did not get your photo taken during orientation.
  • ACES  Tutoring is now available from 3:30 - 5:00 in the LIBRARY every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday! If you have any questions, please contact rlancia@sandi.netMBHS teachers along with university volunteers from UCSD are available to offer:
    • 1-on-1 tutoring in a variety of subject areas
    • Essay help in all phases of the writing process
    • Specialized help such as P/SAT prep and college apps
    • Tech support to navigate online classroom components
    • Access to computers, printers, resources, and reference materials
    • Attention to every student, every time  


ASB Announcements

MBHS Spirit Week

Spirit Week - Join us in celebrating our Buccaneer Spirit during our first Spirit Week of the 2021-22 school year. Remember, students who participate are eligible to earn Spirit Bucs that can be used in the Buc Cafe and Gear Shop! 

  • Monday, Sept 13: Mismatch Monday (polka dots and stripes, mismatched shoes and socks, two different animal prints....)
  • Tuesday, Sept 14: Touchdown Tuesday (wear your favorite sports jerseys and gear)
  • Wednesday, Sept 15: Walt Disney Wednesday (wear your favorite Disney gear head to toe)
  • Thursday, Sept 16: Twin Tuesday (dress up in matching outfit with you best friend(s)) 
  • Friday, Sept 17: Football Friday (show your BUC PRIDE and dress in Black and Gold!!! Tutu, face paint, hair ribbons and head gear, socks, shoes, Buc Spirit Shirts.... Remember, if you need gear, the Gear Shop is open every day at lunch and has everything you need to show your school pride). 


Club Rush: Club Rush will be held on Friday, Sept 24 in Weedpatch at Lunch. Come check out all Mission Bay has to offer. Help your favorite clubs fundraise! Bring cash to pay to play games to win delicious prizes. If you are a Club Officer or Advisor and would like to sign up to have a spot, come by the ASB room any day at lunch. 

Counseling Announcements

  • Seniors & Families - See flyer for more information about Family College Planning Night on Wednesday, September 22nd at 6pm
  • College Reps Visits for 11th and 12th Graders:
    Students - We are excited to announce that college admissions representatives are back this fall. If you would like to hear about their school, ask questions, and get face-time, here's your chance! Please follow these steps:
    1) Ask your teacher for permission to attend (if you have a class at that time).
    2) Get a pass to check in at the MBHS Counseling Office five minutes before the visit begins

11th/12th Grade Students: Please check in with your teacher (if applicable) to be released to the counseling office 5 minutes before the visit begins.
