General Announcements 

  • Wednesday, Sept 7th is our first LATE START day. The first bell will ring at 10:08am.

  • Calling the class of 2024, we are going to be having our first fundraiser on Wednesday, September 21st at Chipotle at 1504 Garnet Ave, Please come and support and show some love to our class!

  • Anime Club will be holding an interest meeting on Tuesday 9/6 during lunch in room 227. Hope to see you there!
  • The MBHS Drumline starts this Friday after school in room 113 from 3:30-5PM.  No drum experience necessary.  Come join us and have fun learning and playing music.  Have the chance to perform at MBHS football and basketball games.  See Mr. Balmat in room 113 for more details.
  • Robotics Team recruiting meeting Wednesday the 7th after school from 3:45 - 5pm, staying the entire time is not required. No experience necessary and it more than just robots! 
  • EcoClub will hold its first meeting in room 255 on Wednesday (9/7) at lunch.  Join us and get involve with activities that benefit our planet!
  • Architecture Club meets every Wednesday at noon in Room 228(Vadnais). Here you can discover, design, and create cool structures.
  • Calling all students! The Wellness Club will have its first meeting this Friday in Room 151 at lunch. Hope to see you there. :) 
  • Optional weekly COVID testing is on campus Thursdays 12 to 4 in the registrar's office. Need to register and consent to test. Please use this link: https://my.primary.health/l/sdusd_2022 Or sign up at the testing table with the tester on Thursdays 12 to 4. If you have questions, please see Nurse Maxwell. 
  • Seniors - Senior Page is up to date with all information we currently have make sure to check it out. Check out the Senior Activities page for updates about Senior Portraits. 
  • Juniors and Seniors - Parking passes will be enforced this week.  If you do not have one yet please stop by 154 for an application. 
  • Staff - If you have not yet applied for your parking pass please see Mrs. Filamor in 154 as we will start to enforce parking permits this week. 
  • Our Tardy policy will start to be implemented this week please make sure you are making every effort to get to class on time. 
  • ACES tutoring is back at the Bay! We are excited to announce that we are now offering ACES tutoring before school as well and will be available in the library starting at 7:30 am every day (enter via Rose Creek gate). Please note that if you come to campus for ACES before school you are expected to stay in the library and get focused and organized and work on assignments with the support of MBHS teachers. After school, we will still be available from 3:30-5:00 in the library with MBHS teachers as well as university tutors across all subject areas. If you have any questions contact [email protected]

ASB Announcements

  • Club Rush: The first Club Rush of this year will be on September 8th at lunch in the Weed Patch. If you are a club advisor or president, you will need to fill out your club forms and confirm a table, please contact [email protected] to do so. If you are a student you are welcome to attend the Club Rush, you can sign up and join clubs to be more involved in the school. There will also be snacks and other activities for you to enjoy.
  • Freshmen Class Elections: Attention Class of 2026!!! It's time to start fundraising for your Senior Prom and other activities you will plan and attend in the next 4 years! Help your class start strong and run for Class Office. Class Officer positions include President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Class Officers are responsible for planning a minimum of 3 fundraisers during the school year, designing your homecoming float and half time "dance" and leading your class throughout the year.

  • ASB Card: Buy your ASB card to get special benefits throughout the school year including free entry to regular season home football and basketball games, discounts on dance tickets and exclusive card holder events. You must have your student ID to purchase an ASB card. ASB card stickers will be sold at lunch in the Gear Shop this week for $25. ***You must have your physical card with you to use ASB card benefits***
  • Spirit Gear and PE Clothes: The Gear Shop will be open at lunch all week. Check out our new gear and buy your PE clothes. Let's show out Buc Pride every Friday for Buc Gear Fridays and at all our sporting events throughout the year!

  •  Homecoming Dance Tickets: Homecoming dance tickets will be sold every Friday in the Gear Shop at lunch. Our Homecoming Dance is on Sat, Oct 22 at the Fleet Science Center in Balboa park. Tickets are $60 with an ASB card and $65 without. You don't want to miss out on a night full of food, dancing and other activities. 

Counseling Announcements

  • Juniors and Seniors - Please accept your invitation to the "Counseling Corner" Canvas so that you can receive grade-level announcements, send messages to your school counselor, and access resources all year.
  • Fall College Resources - Linked here, this guide is provided to help connect students/families with local opportunities related to college research/applying. Most relevant for seniors. It will be updated regularly so check it each week. 
  • Seniors & Families - Save the Date, Wednesday, September 29th at 6pm for Family College Planning Night.  The meeting will be held via Zoom. More information will be sent.

    • IB Information Night will be held at 5PM before Open House In Person
    • Open House Night activities start at 6PM In Person - more information to come via email. .   
  • Friends of PB Secondary Schools (FOPBSS) welcomes you to join our first meeting! Wednesday, September 14th 6:00PM in the library at Mission Bay High School.  Zoom information will be listed on our website and shared via the weekly FOPBSS e-blast. For more information or to sign up, visit  fopbss.org
  • Make sure that you add [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected] to your email address book to ensure you receive the weekly emails sent home on Sundays.  If you missed the messages, they will also be posted in MBHS News on the school website.
